Project scope
The current company plan calls for the establishment of a restaurant with a dependable project management staff. Managing our current project by accomplishing and accomplish the work at hand while keeping our cost, deadline, and industry analysis in mind is something that our chief projects officer must be disciplined about. Our goal is to open a Caribbean eatery in Queens, New York, that will cater to the needs of Asian cultures while serving up delicious dishes that everyone will enjoy (Bristow & Jenkins, 2018). The Caribbean/Asian gastronomy, tropical setting, amazing music, and genuine friendliness will be the main attractions of the restaurant. We will deliver the highest level of service as well as provide our consumers with complete to the majority of their regular food while away from home in a convenient one-stop shopping. We will strive to make our eatery the best spot to eat in the area. Indoor and outdoor eating, as well as takeout and deliveries, will be available at the restaurant. Possessing all of the information above will allow our customers to make more informed decisions about how they want to experience our cuisine in the future (Bristow & Jenkins, 2018).
They include things like arranging the restaurant for improved organisation, purchasing equipment, negotiating with vendors, installing an e – commerce system, and providing training. It is possible to decompose each of these commitments into smaller activities that are easily controlled. Once all of the individual tasks have been performed, that individual phase of the process is completed, enabling the development team to move on to the next step.

In order to properly analyse company’s needs, the owner/manager must assemble a group of people who have a vested purpose in the preparation of this project. During this process, the products, equipment, and activities that will be required will be defined. Additionally, the technical as well as the commercial needs must be identified and documented. Following that, the team will outline the requirements for the vendor. Ultimately, a formal document outlining the specifications will need to be presented for approval; this paper is referred to as the Requirements Specification (Bristow & Jenkins, 2018).

However, there will be some variations between the process of obtaining technology and the process of securing a supplier, and those distinctions will be described in greater detail below. It is necessary to undertake an assessment of present technology before any new equipment can be purchased for the company’s use (Suryawan, 2020). Following the completion of the assessment, the entrepreneur must evaluate whether the object should be renovated. If the item has to be repaired, it should be put on a replacement order list as soon as possible. The owner management will go through the process of picking a vendor again if the item cannot be fixed. Otherwise, the item will be discarded (Bristow & Jenkins, 2018).

It is critical to get training correctly the first time because that will be one of the most significant deliveries of the entire operation (Suryawan, 2020). To accomplish this effectively, an assessment must be conducted, a plan must be made, resources must be prepared, the project must be launched, and then the project must be evaluated. It is possible that this will turn out to be an expensive failure without a strong direction; thus, let us go through these issues in greater depth.

Project scope management plan

Aim– The project is concerning the establishment of restaurant and eateries.
Initialization – The project begins, and the sponsor distributes resources, including the project manager and a kick-off conference. The procedure of starting a restaurant is not straightforward. There are a variety of checklists that need to be compiled before anything else. The selection procedure will commence once all of the checklists have been made available (Tereso et al., 2019). During that time period, it is necessary to remove some options while keeping others that have potential. Project management is critical in ensuring that the available solutions are executed within a timeframe and budget that has been established in advance.
According to research design, floor plan, supplier management, building lifecycle management, and site selection are only a few of the time-consuming duties that a project must deal with during its development. Restaurant managers and supervisors may be particularly skilled in the strategic decision area of operations (Demirkesen & Ozorhon, 2017). Additionally, their abilities are quite beneficial when it comes to conceptual design. Nevertheless, there are some few instances in which managers’ basic competencies are lacking. The ability to design and build a modern restaurant is critical in the development of a small restaurant. The first and most important step is to develop an appropriate timeline for the development of the restaurant.

Execution and control

Carrying out the plans in order to accomplish the work, while also tracking and reviewing the achievements. The overwhelming number of chores that must be completed before to a restaurant’s grand opening is beyond comprehension (Tereso et al., 2019). Securing and constructing the space, selecting contractors, and overseeing the construction method are just a several of the time-consuming tasks that project teams are expected to complete. Even though design phase and process management are two of the most important skills for restaurant operators to have, few have experience handling the procurement and build duties that come with launching a new facility. Fortunately, in the majority of cases, franchisees receive assistance from the franchisor (Demirkesen & Ozorhon, 2017). As a matter of fact, some companies control the daily design and construction phases, allowing franchisees to concentrate on other parts of their company’ setup. Construction firms with extensive experience in the food service industry might handle program management duties for non-franchised restaurants.

Project scope
            Undoubtedly, planning is a crucial part of any project that has a direct impact on its outcome. Organizations invest a lot of time and resources to plan the projects accordingly yet make the process as smooth as possible. Project scope management or simply a project scope is the largest part of the planning process. In simple terms, the scope of the project outlines its boundaries. Moreover, the project scope should also include any specifics of the project as timeline, objectives, budgets, and others. As Mirza et al. (2013) state in their work, wrongly identified or poorly detailed project scope will likely lead to failure.
In order to understand the nature of the project scope, let’s take an online store website redesign as an example. Since the website already exists, the project scope should include the description of the product or service and the end-user. One of the main questions in any project scope is “what the product needs to do and why?”. In our case, on the high level, the project scope is to redesign the website to mirror the changes in the vision of the company to appeal to a younger audience while improving the functionality in 3 months’ time.
Mirza et al. (2013) also recommend including not only the end-users in the project scope but also all involved stakeholders and their boundaries. As such, the website redesigning project scope includes two website developers that would need to complete their work within one month, three marketing executives that would lead the project, a website designer, and an IT specialist. The detailed level of stakeholders’ involvement is typically covered in the project scope management plan.
One of the crucial aspects of successful project scope, according to Ajmal et al. (2020), is to manage the expectations of all participants. Since scope creep is a huge issue for many organizations, efficient communications between stakeholders are particularly important (Ajmal et al., 2020). For instance, by using cloud-based communication technology, both marketing specialists, website designers, and IT specialists would be able to quickly resolve possible issues, discuss alternative options and technicalities. All in all, having a clear and detailed project scope is critical for any project. Knowing customer or client needs and the purpose of the product is the basis of the project scope. Moreover, the common issue of scope creep could be avoided by setting clear expectations, goals, and timelines for all involved parties.
